Muncy School Oral History Project

Robin Van Auken, working with volunteers from the Muncy Historical Society and the students (past and present) of Muncy Jr/Sr High School, interviewed 35 alumni and current students. More than 12 hours of raw video and hundreds of photographs were edited into a 30-minute DVD oral history project.

Historical Society volunteers and Muncy students collaborated on this important project as one component of the 75th anniversary celebration of Muncy’s High School.

Each contributor received a DVD of their interview. Since the release of the DVD, several alumni have passed away, reinforcing the importance of conducting oral histories for preservation of a community.

Enjoy this seven-minute glance of the project reliving school days during the 20th and 21st centuries. DVDs are available from Muncy Historical Society.
