We celebrated a milestone in the Van Auken family: our 35th wedding anniversary.
I made a short video for my sweetheart that summarized some of the adventures we’ve had this past year, and I’m looking forward to many more.

Mr. and Mrs. Lance Van Auken, South Williamsport, observed their 35th wedding anniversary Feb. 14, 2016.
They were married in Seminole, Fla.
Mrs. Van Auken, the former Robin Butler, is a native of San Diego. She is the daughter of the late Jean Butler, St. Petersburg, Fla. She graduated from Henrico High School, Henrico, Va., in 1976 and the University of South Florida in 1990 with a bachelor’s degree and in 2002 with a master’s degree, both in anthropology. She is a public archaeologist with Hands-on Heritage, and an instructor at Lycoming College.
Mr. Van Auken, a native of Seminole, Fla., is the son of the late Ruth Van Auken Baes, Seminole, Fla., and the late Robert D. Van Auken. He graduated from Seminole High School in 1978. He is vice president at Little League International and executive director of the Peter J. McGovern Little League Museum. He served in the Army Reserves and was a volunteer umpire and baseball consultant for 40 years.
They are the parents of a son, Lance W., and a daughter, Sarah L.
In honor of their anniversary, a celebration with their family was held at Old Ebbitt Grill, Washington, D.C.
